Dr. Leonardson and IV sedation
Dr. Leonardson works on a patient under IV sedation.

Root Canal– When the pulp or root of a tooth is damaged, you can have discomfort or pain in your tooth. Because nothing is as good as your natural tooth, we do the best we can to save the tooth, but still relieve your pain. Root canals often carry a stigma of being very painful, but in fact, they are often no worse than having a filling done, and usually relieve most or all of the pain shortly after the procedure. <go to top>

Apico – Sometimes the bony tissue around your root can become infected or inflamed. In this case, the doctor may decide an apicoectomy is necessary. Here the doctor will open up the gum tissue and remove the damages tissue or even part of the root, possibly sealing it with a small filling. <go to top>

Bleaching – Occasionally when a root canal is done, a tooth may change colors. In this case, we can do a single tooth bleaching in order to make that tooth look white and beautiful again. This is painless and will make that tooth blend right in again. <go to top>

IV Sedation - We know that some people have high anxiety when they come to a dentist, but that's ok! We still want to fix your tooth and get you feeling better. If you would rather not be awake while we are working on your teeth, we also offer certified IV sedation for those of you with tense nerves. <go to top>

Evaluation – Everyone is different, and so, every tooth is different. This means that before we decide to jump into a situation, we may want to take a look at your tooth and speak with you about your symptoms. We know you have questions for us, and we have questions for you, so before we start working on your tooth, we want to evaluate your tooth and let you ask us all those questions you have on your mind. We want you to feel comfortable with us, and we want to feel comfortable that whatever course of action we choose for you, is the best chance at saving your tooth and stopping the pain. <go to top>

Trauma/Emergency – We lead busy, active lives here in Colorado . Unfortunately, sometimes those lifestyles mean trauma to our teeth. We can help you deal with teeth that have been knocked out, cracked or broken, and we'll do our best to stop the pain as quickly as we can! We also handle other emergency situations like abscesses, an infection at the root of your tooth. <go to top>

Additional work – No medical field is an exact science, in fact, we can't ever guarantee that something will work. However, saving your natural tooth is one of our main goals and we'll use our expertise and experience to determine the best course of action. However, occasionally we'll find that a stubborn tooth won't react the way most other teeth will, and we'll need to go back and re-evaluate the best course of action. Thus, there's always a chance that you'll need additional work on your tooth, but most cases are routine, and generally the sooner we find out about a problem, the better off we all are. <go to top>
